
Tashkent will host the premiere of the second part of Pavel Selin's dilogy "The Dawn of the Pearl of the East" - "On the New Silk Road".
Famous TV presenter, author and documentary film director Pavel Selin finished shooting his second film about Uzbekistan for "Rossiya-Kultura" TV channel this summer. Premiere will be held in the framework of the XIV Tashkent International Film Festival.
The film was made with the support of the Film Agency of Uzbekistan. Inspired by the success of the documentary "The Dawn of the Pearl of the East", the filmmakers this year expanded the themes and geography of the shoot.
The film will tell about the contemporary culture of New Uzbekistan, its festival life, theatrical and film premieres.
- A cross-section of the cultural life of the country is shown through new characters. After its premiere at the Festival, the film will be shown on Russian TV, which urgently needs to expand the audience for documentary films, - says Pavel Selin, the author of the film.
The purpose of the film is to promote the idea of mutual penetration of cultures as a basis for intercultural cooperation, to strengthen the historical traditions of friendship and good neighborliness.
The Russian viewer will see the door to the world of art of Uzbekistan and the names of prominent cultural figures, whose fate is inextricably linked with the two countries.
