Within the framework of the XV Tashkent International Film Festival "Pearl of the Silk Road", the results of the "Cinema in 5 Days" contest were summarized at the Alisher Navoi Cinema House.
It was created to attract students from Silk Road countries and leading film schools of the world to strengthen friendship and brotherhood between peoples, expand international cooperation and cultural ties, identify and support young filmmakers, create conditions for them and improve their skills in the field of cinematography in Uzbekistan.
The contestants made short films about our country in different cities of the country.
The contest gathered talents from all corners of the world. The total number of films gathered was about 10 - the works of our figures, as well as young people from Kazakhstan, Russia, Armenia and other countries.
The international contest "Cinema in 5 Days" became a great opportunity for the specialists starting their way to make themselves known.
At the ceremony of awarding the winners of the competition, the director of the Cinematography Agency Firdavs Abdukhalikov made a speech.
"This competition united young filmmakers from very different countries. It is not only a film competition, but also a festival project that epitomizes such a concept as friendship of nations. The participants presented films about our country, and the jury appreciated them on their merits. Uzbekistan is a country of the young! The main goal of the film festival is to give the new generation an opportunity to show their potential and make themselves known!", Firdavs Abdukhalikov said.
Dilshod Usmonov's "Uzum" was recognized in the nomination "Best National Short Film". Hilola Abdurasulova with the film "My Uzbekistan" and Nuriya Safarova for the film "Omonat" were also recognized for their participation in this nomination.
In the special nomination of the contest "Cinema of 5 Days" for foreign participants the winners were named: 3rd place - Yakov Podkustov for the movie "Rishta" (Russia), 2nd place - Yedisa Toktorova for the movie "City of Dreams" (Kyrgyzstan), 1st place - Shirin Ahmedov for the movie "One Hundred Steps" (Azerbaijan). The winners were awarded cash prizes and valuable gifts.
