British director Abdul Latif (Ovidio) Salazar, author of a series of films about Islam, will take part in the Tashkent International Film Festival "Pearl of the Silk Road".
Salazar is one of the brightest filmmakers of our time, directing films about Islam, including the documentary projects "Al-Ghazali: The Alchemist of Happiness", "Journey to Mecca", BBC series "Faces of Islam".
The director emphasizes that although his entire adult professional career is connected with filming pictures about the Muslim world, he considers his audience to be all of humanity.
His latest work "Hijra: In the Footsteps of the Prophet", which premiered this spring in Saudi Arabia, is the first ever cinematic account of the Hijra, the eight-day journey of the Prophet Muhammad from Mecca to Medina in 622.
