Yesterday, on September 29th, the opening ceremony of the 15th Tashkent International Film Festival "Pearl of the Silk Road" was held at the Alisher Navoi Cinema House.
Before the opening ceremony, famous film stars of the world and Uzbekistan walked along a specially organized red carpet. About 300 cinematographers, actors and actresses, directors and cameramen, producers and film critics, film historians took part in the event.
Famous French actor Frederic Diefenthal, known to Uzbek viewers for his role in the movie "Taxi", also took part in the ceremony. He danced to the Andijan song. The event also included a concert program in which the famous Turkish singer Ayla Çelik sang.
The winners of the National Film Contest were announced and awarded at the event. According to this, Khashim Arslanov was named the winner in the "Best Actor" nomination for his role in the movie the "Flight 101". Rano Shodieva won in the "Best Actress" nomination for her role in the movie "Ayol Qismati". Ali Khamroev also won the "Best Director" award for the movie "Samarqandda qovun tarovati". Kamara Kamalova's film "Kim Deyay Seni" was honored with the "Best Film" award.
The opening ceremony was followed by a screening of the movie "Anatomy of a Fall" by French director Justine Trieu, who won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes International Film Festival.
The Tashkent International Film Festival will last until October 2nd. Festival events include master classes with participation of famous and talented filmmakers, screenings of popular films, competition programs and others.
