At the XV Tashkent International Film Festival to show eight competitive and out-of-competition films produced in Kazakhstan. Among them is the historical drama "Lonely Yurt" by Begars Yelubaev, which became the winner of the international film festival in Turkey "Korkut Ata". The film was screened on October 1 at the Rivera Cinema.
"Lonely Yurt" - a screen adaptation of the novel of the same name by the famous Kazakh writer Smagul Yelubai. The plot of the picture is based on real events. The tape tells about the trials that fell to the share of the inhabitants of the Kazakh aul in the 30s of the last century. They were forced to leave their village with their children and go to the Karakalpak city of Kungrad, but got lost and ended up in the desert of Turkmenistan. The movie is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the famine in Kazakhstan.
