Italian director Pietro Marcello will hold a master class and present his interpretation of "Scarlet Sails"
Within the framework of the XV Tashkent International Film Festival "Pearl of the Silk Road" a master class of one of the most famous contemporary Italian directors Pietro Marcello will be held, as well as a screening of his film "Scarlet".
Screening of the film "Scarlett" will be held on September 30 in the small hall of the House of Cinematographer. The beginning of the session at 17:00. Then there will be a master class for creative young people with Pietro Marcello. At the end of the meeting the guests will be shown the film-winner of the Cannes Film Festival "Eight Mountains", co-production of Italy, Belgium, France and Great Britain.
Pietro Marcello is one of the most promising Italian directors of our time. He started out as a documentary filmmaker. He made several documentaries. One of them, "Jaws of the Wolf", won two awards at the Berlin Film Festival. Since 2015, started making feature films. The most successful work to date is the drama "Martin Eden", filmed in 2019, based on the work of Jack London. The picture was selected to participate in the competition for the "Golden Lion", and the performer of the main role Luca Martinell at the Venice Film Festival won the Volpi Cup in the category "For Best Actor".
"Scarlett" is a historical melodrama by Pietro Marcello based on Alexander Green's novel "Scarlet Sails". The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2022. The film received generally positive reviews from critics.
