Historical film about the governor of Khubilai Khan in Yunnan will become a symbol of friendship between Uzbekistan and China.
The working title of the Uzbek-Chinese co-production is "Umar Kamoliddin Said Shamsuddin". It will be dedicated to the historical figure, a native of Bukhara, who was appointed by the Mongol ruler Kublai Khan as a governor of Yunnan Province of China. Umar Kamoliddin Said Shamsuddin was only 10 years old when Genghis Khan conquered Bukhara in the 13th century. His family went into the service of the Mongol conqueror and he was later sent as viceroy to the province of China.
The director of the project is Shukhrat Makhmudov, the scriptwriter and director Khusan Rashidov, who shot a wonderful project "Cholpon kush estaligi" last year. The film's production is supervised by Uzbekistan's Foreign Ministry and the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in China, together with Chinese partners who are helping to organize the filming process in the Celestial Empire. In Uzbekistan, preparations for the filming are in full swing - sets and costumes will be made here. Also Uzbek artists-animators and graphic designers are working on creating concept art: the creators believe that the visual film will meet the highest modern standards.
The film should become a symbol of China-Uzbek friendship and one of the first signs of long-term cooperation between the two countries in the film industry.
