Kazakh film actress Samal Yeslyamova was born on September 1, 1984. She graduated from the acting department of the Russian State Institute of Theater Arts in 2011 and made her debut role in 2008 in Sergei Dvortseva’s film "Lola". The film won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival and nine Grand Prix at international film festivals around the world. She received the Best Actress nomination at the 71st Cannes Film Festival in 2018 for her role in Ayka, which she shot for 6 years.
She also won the Asian Oscar at the 2019 Asian Film Festival for the same film.
