At the Youth Creativity Palace on the initiative of the National Association of Electronic Mass Media of Uzbekistan, the award ceremony of the winners of the Debut-2021 contest was held on May 6 as part of the  "New Uzbekistan.  New View" media week .

At the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov, Chairman of the Electronic Mass Media Management of Uzbekistan Firdavs Abdukholiqov, People's Artist of Uzbekistan Khairulla Sadiev and others spoke about the support of our government, especially in the field of cinema.  It was noted at the event that 5 billion soums had been allocated for the contest, which would be used to finance short films expected to be made by young filmmakers.

According to the Uzbek Cinematography Agency, about 200 film projects have been submitted to the Debut-2021 contest by young filmmakers.  A special commission composed of members of the Agency's Arts Council selected the best 16 film projects from among those 200 and recommended them for filming.  At the event, the authors of these film projects were awarded certificates.
At the end of the ceremony, a short feature film "Lola. Sun and me", directed by young filmmaker Mahliyo Askaralieva, was presented to the audience.
