The film festival ”Pearl of the Silk Road” will not be just a film show
Tashkent International Film Festival has a long history. It was first held in October from 21 to 31, 1968, in Tashkent City. At the film festival attended filmmakers from 22 states. Many famous filmmakers, such as Senegalese famous actress Mbissin Terez, actress Magda Kamel, Japanese actor Kimura Akira, Bulgarian director Tordon Dinov visited to the festival
After that, within 31 years, International Film Festivals were held in Tashkent with the participation of filmmakers from three continents: Asia, Africa, Latin America.
Filmfestival continued its activity in 1978 in a new way. It featured films from many more countries, such as Burundi, Gambia, Mali. At the Tashkent International Film Festival, which was held in 1997, the last time was shown films by Uzbek artists such as Nabi Ganiyev and Khudoybergan Devonov.
29 years later, 55 well-known stars are expected to participate in the restored film festival.
Earlier reported that Abdurakhim Ismailov, a member of the Working Group of the Tashkent International Film Festival, the owner of the order “Labor glory(Mehnat shuhrati)”, was accompanied by impressions of the festival.
