
The first Arab film about artificial intelligence will be shown at the film festival
The upcoming XIV Tashkent International Film Festival "Pearl of the Silk Road" will give to guests of the country a lot of big premieres. One of the significant screenings will be the broadcast of "Musa" - sci-fi action film by director Peter Mimi. The film will be presented as part of the Egyptian Cinema Days.
The film "Musa" can be rightfully considered the first Arabic film about artificial intelligence and robotics in the Arab world. The storyline is set in a fictional world. The protagonist is student and engineer Yahya (actor Karim Mahmoud Abdel Aziz), a shy young man with soft character. He has to face pain and injustice as bandits kill his father. Trying to cope with the tragedy, he invents a combat robot that he can control with his mind and gives him the name Musa. Now Yahya becomes a punisher.
The high technology used by the vengeance-obsessed student turns out to be so revolutionary for the Middle East, that the machine with artificial intelligence begins to be pursued by the authorities, wanting to get hold of the super-smart fighting unit. But capturing the nearly perfect and as it soon turns out, superintelligent machine will not be so easy.
The film will premiere in Uzbekistan on September 15th at the Magic Cinema. The screening is organized with the support of the Egyptian and Uzbek embassies.
