
Cinema Days of SCO countries will start XIV Tashkent International Film Festival
Each of the countries, members of the organization, will show their best films at the upcoming XIV Tashkent International Film Festival. These include films from India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
Observer countries (Belarus, Iran, Mongolia) and SCO dialogue partner countries (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey) will also present their films.
It is important to note that the film delegations of SCO countries presented to the festival art council their best premieres of the year 2022.
- Cinema art offers a unique chance to reflect the rich culture, history, traditions and philosophical heritage of the SCO member states within the Shanghai Region," said Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Director General of the Film Industry Agency. - Presently the Agency portfolio of cinema includes more than 15 joint films with SCO countries.
Delegations of SCO countries will hold SCO Films Days in Tashkent and regions of Uzbekistan, as well as in the Republic of Karakalpakstan. In addition, a Cinema Forum of SCO countries will be held, where participants will discuss cooperation, plans for joint film production and exchange of creative ideas. A common distribution network of the participating countries will be created, locations for film tourism and improvement of the rebate system in the territory of the SCO countries will be discussed and drawn up.
