
"The Sun Taste" film is being shot in Tashkent
A co-production film called The Sun Taste is being shot in cooperation with the Cinema Agency of Uzbekistan and the Russian film company Sputnik Vostok Production. After filming in Bukhara and Samarkand regions, foreign filmmakers continue their work in Tashkent.
The adventure fantasy film is one of the first co-production joint projects. In recent years, Sputnik Vostok Production has established a close partnership with Netflix, the world's largest streaming service. Negotiations are underway to present the film The Sun Taste on the Netflix platform. Meanwhile, in recent years, the Cinema Agency has undertaken extensive co-production work with the participation of foreign film companies. The participation of Uzbek filmmakers, especially young people, in such projects provides an opportunity to gain additional experience and improve their professional skills. Moreover, such projects play an important role in promoting Uzbekistan via the world screens.
The film tells the story of an average Moscow family which faces incredible adventures during a trip to Uzbekistan. The film also shows the search for the treasure of the Bukhara Emir, his persecution, reveals the theme of friendship and family relations.
Stage Director - Eldar Salavatov, artist - Yuri Fomenko, producers - Alexander Kessel and Firdavs Abdukhalikov, director - Tatiana Sulyaeva. The script was written by the famous Russian screenwriter Oleg Malovichko. It is worth mentioning that Malovichko wrote scripts for such TV series as Trotsky, Method and films such as Union of Salvation, Attraction, Yolki. He took 3rd place in the list of the five best screenwriters in Russia.
The film stars the Uzbek and Russian movie stars: Andrey Merzlikin, Alexander Ilyin, Mukhammadiso Abdulkhairov and others.
Filming takes place in Moscow, Bukhara, Samarkand, Tashkent and Tashkent region. The film will demonstrate all the beauty of the local landscapes (for example, such places as Charvak), as well as historical monuments of Uzbekistan, such as Registan, Gur Emir, Mirzo Ulugbek observatory in Samarkand, Ark fortress museum in Bukhara, Minorai Kalon mosque.
The Sun Taste's premiere is scheduled for autumn 2021. Under an agreement between the foreign studio and the Agency, the latter will receive 25% of the worldwide box office revenues and will have all rights to show the film in Uzbekistan.
