Ganiev refers to the ancient Eastern legend about the
tragic love story of the son of a simple warrior Tahir
to the daughter of Khan, Zuhra. The legend of Tahir
and Zuhra originated in the 15th century under the
bloody rule of the Genghisids, when the whip was
considered the highest law in the country, and brutal
violence was the highest virtue.
