who crossed the whole of Central Asia in the late 13th century. He made a long journey to the East, spent a long time at the court of
the Great Khan in Mongolia and China, visited Japan, Southeast and Central Asia, Persia. He told his memories and impressions to the
writer Rusticello da Pisa, who wrote them down and thus compiled The Book about the Diversity of the World.
